Steve Perry, born 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has worked, among other things, as a lifeguard, martial art instructor, private detective, a nurse, and a PA-C (physician's assistant, certified), before becoming a full-time freelance writer. His first short story sale, With Clean Hands, appeared in Galaxy Magazine in 1977 under the pseudonym “Jesse Peel.” His first published novel was The Tularemia Gambit, in 1981. Perry has collaborated several times, including short stories with George Guthridge, and William Gibson; novels and TV/movie scripts with Michael Reaves, Larry Segriff, and Dan Moran, Leonard Nimoy, and books with both children, Dal Perry and S.D. Perry. Other works include:
His most recent books, self-published, include two novels and a novella in The Void series; and the most recent work is Pistoleers, the first novel of the Àrsaidh Duelists, with a second book, Enforcers, the current work-in-progress. He has written short-story collections; the movie tie-ins for both The Mask and Men in Black; cartoon shows for television, including Batman: The Animated Show and Gargoyles, as well as several spec movies scripts. |
