Science fiction conventions in Portland (as well as our sponsoring organization OSFCI itself) got their start in 1978 with the PorSFiS Symposium, a one-day event at Portland State University. A group of us would like to bring back that tradition with a small SF literary event this summer, Symposium 2026, helping fill the gap left by the demise of OryCon. This one-day event will be a reach out to the fans who have enjoyed Portland area literary events and embraces their enthusiasm for science fiction & fantasy writing in books, films, and television. We are producing a simple, small daytime event that allows fans to celebrate the career and achievements of Steve Perry, who currently resides in the Portland metro area. We hope it will also provide a model for creating future similar events. Feel free to distribute our flyer. |
